The
BABYSENSE II RESPIRATORY MONITOR monitors the breathing of babies
and will alert if your infant's breathing stops or becomes irregularly slow.
Allows you to sleep soundly knowing that your baby is doing the same.
SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) is a condition where infants, usually
under one year experience harmful irregular breathing or can stop breathing
completely. It is responsible for 60 to 100 deaths in New Zealand each year.
The causes for SIDS are not completely understood - affected infants are
often otherwise healthy and normal.
The
BABYSENSE II RESPIRATORY MONITOR works through two
very sensitive sensors (in flat panels) that are located
under the crib mattress. The entire mattress area is covered,
and there is absolutely no contact with your infant. The
sensors are connected to a small battery operated control
unit, which can be clipped to the cot or bassinet, or laid
on a flat surface near by. If the breathing slows or stops
for more than 20 seconds then an alarm sounds. It operates
on standard household batteries for simplicity, with a typical
battery lifespan of 6 months and a low battery warning system.
The BABYSENSE II RESPIRATORY MONITOR meets all New
Zealand and Australian standards for use in hospitals and
homes. It is currently in use to monitor sleep safety in
12 neonatal units around New Zealand, including Waitakere
Hospital, Auckland Hospital, Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital,
Hutt Hospital and Wellington Hospital.
It is supported by a full one year manufacturer's warranty.
TESTIMONIAL - Babysense saved our baby's life.

"Hi, my name is Lisa. We purchased one of your Babysense sensor units for
our little daughter when she was born. We wish to thank you for your wonderful
product, as the Babysense monitor saved our baby's life. 2.45 am Monday morning
3rd March 2003, the alarm sounded in Nakita's bedroom. We responded and found
her blue and not breathing. As soon as I picked her up, she started breathing
again. All I could think about was "what if we didn't have the monitor".
We have encouraged our friends to purchase a Babysense SIDS monitor, and
thank you once again."
